We designed this website for people who have been referred to Ninewells by their General Practitioner or by the National Screening Service for breast cancer. We aim to provide information about breast conditions, what to expect on visits to the hospital and other general information.

Throughout all our pages there are links which offer you the opportunity to go to appropriate points in other web sites for more information. There is also a whole section on links to other web sites. We have selected sites because they are reputable but we have no control over their content. Please read the disclaimer section.

We hope you find this website useful and informative but it is not intended to be and must not be used as a means of self diagnosis. If you have any worries at all about your breasts you really must go to your own GP.

Any medical enquiries should be discussed with your own doctor but if you have found any errors in the website eg links which do not work, please email to aec@st-andrews.ac.uk. Please note that e-mails on medical topics will not be replied to as we do not have the resources to deal with them. There are charities (Cancer Link and Breast Cancer Care) which offer support and information over the telephone. There is more information about them in our Support Groups page.
